Renée Jordan was born in Washington, D.C. Thanksgiving Day 1981,
raised in Largo, M.D., and has been a resident of Glenn Dale, M.D. for
the past 9 years. Renee is one of her parent's eight children. She has
six brothers, one sister, three nieces and three nephews. Her life long
church membership has been at the Refreshing Spring COGIC,
where she has sat under the teaching and preaching of the RSCOGIC
founder, the late Bishop A.D. Headen, and currently sits under the
Superintendent James E. Jordan, Jr., DDV (no known relation).
Renée graduated from Laurel High School of Laurel, M.D. June of
1999. She pursued a B.A. in Biological Science at Hood College of
Frederick, M.D. where she graduated from in May 2003.
In June of 2003, God allowed Renée to reunite with a few Laurel
High School classmates and began to do a new thing in her life. God
started to reveal His will for her life in much greater detail than she
had ever experienced before. She once aspired to become a pediatrician.
However, as God uncovered His plan for her, she had to let this dream
go. The news of her not going to medical school came as a shock and
disappointment to her family and friends that were pulling for her. Yet
knowing it was indeed God's will, she found relief and rest in being
yielded to God. At the age of 15, God made it clear that she would
preach and teach his word. And in that summer of 2003 God spoke to her
about full time ministry. Although she is called, Renee is waiting for
the appointed time in which God will release her into the word
ministry. She is an active member of RSCOGIC's Young
Adult and Mass Choirs and has recently joined the Liturgical Dance
Ministry. Singing to God was what she has always loved. Now
incorporating Liturgical Dance in her praise is taking her to a higher
place in worship.
Presently, prayer is where God is stretching Renée out.
“Intercession” and “Prayer Warrior” are no
longer words that she only associates with the mothers of old and those
attend 6 a.m. prayer on Sundays and noonday prayer during the week; but
it is what God has called her to for the rest of her life.
